Louis Prandolini  is sick of living large, and he wants to tell us about it. Armed with a powerpoint and a knack for observational comedy, Louis reflects on being a comedian as a teenager and the impact that’s had on him over the past few years. Along the way, we get anecdotes about his years at film school, acting school, and now a screenwriting course.

It’s all tied together by an earnest delivery (I could even describe the style as low key...) that helps every joke land. There’s also strong proof of why the rule of three's is so important in comedy.

This is my first time seeing Louis, but he explained to us that past shows at the festival have had a broader gimmick, which he has chosen to pare back for 2026. The structure is loose in a way that works well for the show; mostly, it’s a framework for 50 minutes of solid bits, adding up to a wonderfully silly final pun. (Puns will always be funny.)

Melbourne International Comedy Festival acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands upon which we work and live. We acknowledge the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' spirit, imagination and rich history of storytelling and humour that is an inspiration to all Australians.

We accept the invitation to walk together with First Nations people towards a more positive future for Australia, as described in the Uluru Statement From The Heart.
