Melbourne International Comedy Festival acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands upon which we work and live. We acknowledge the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' spirit, imagination and rich history of storytelling and humour that is an inspiration to all Australians.

We accept the invitation to walk together with First Nations people towards a more positive future for Australia, as described in the Uluru Statement From The Heart.

The Wholesome Hour Polite Mammals

Award-winning physical theatre company, The Wholesome Hour (Kimberly Twiner, Lily Fish, Angela Fouhy and Sunanda Sachatrakul) rocket their totally wild, neo-vaudevillian variety show to Bunjil Place, Frankston Arts Centre and Darebin Arts Centre.

Inspired by iconic '90s Aussie kids TV like The Ferals, Lift Off and Recovery, Polite Mammals celebrates animals of all kinds – real, imaginary, sparkly, stinky, polite and rude!

Through puppetry, dance, original music and absurd mischief, you and your family will be introduced to 20+ animal-inspired characters in under an hour. Expect farting skunks, a dancing praying mantis, Frankenstein cockroaches and even a singing bin chicken (aka ibis).

This is family-friendly Aussie comedy at its silliest!

Ideal for children aged 5-10 years old, and their grown ups.
