Melbourne International Comedy Festival acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands upon which we work and live. We acknowledge the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' spirit, imagination and rich history of storytelling and humour that is an inspiration to all Australians.

We accept the invitation to walk together with First Nations people towards a more positive future for Australia, as described in the Uluru Statement From The Heart.

Molly Sokhom Short Fuse (United States)

Molly Sokhom Short Fuse (USA)

Is there a funny side to being a Cambodian refugee, dealing with trauma and being diagnosed as an adult with Borderline Personality Disorder? Why yes! From generational trauma to dealing with anger and self-destructive behaviour, Molly Sokhom will turn that dark into light with hilarious stories and self-deprecating humour (and how she continues to work on herself and deal with some of these symptoms). If you can handle the emotional shrapnel, you’ll have a blast.

Molly Sokhom broke into the San Francisco comedy scene in 2008 making a name for herself as an emerging comedian and MC. She made a move to New Zealand in 2014, being a four-time New Zealand International Comedy Festival performer as well as performing in the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. After almost six years, she’s back in California and continues to make audiences laugh at clubs and theatres all over.

'Sokhom has a great stage personality: warm, down-to-earth, energetic, good-natured, always ready to laugh at herself, and with tons of heart.' Theatreview (NZ)
