Accessibility details

The entrance to the Mezz is via the foyer and the performance space is on the Mezzanine level. From the foyer, proceed up the large internal staircase approx. 10+ steps to the Mezzanine level. The entrance to the venue is directly off the stairwell into the rear of the performance space.

There is step-free/wheelchair access from Lonsdale St to the lifts in the foyer. Take the lift to the Mezzanine level and the lift opens directly into the performance space. Patrons who require lift access need to be assisted by a Comedy Festival Front of House staff member.

Accessible seating is available on the right-hand side of the performance space, close to the entrance door. Accessible bathrooms are available next to the lifts on each level.

Wheelchair access can be arranged upon arrival but venue staff will need to assist (eg. placing ramps)

Accessibility details

The Flinders Street entrance to the Forum has one small step up to the central double doors. Step free access is via a ramp through the righthand side set of doors.

Forum Upstairs access from Flinders Street is via the large railed staircase to right-hand side of the foyer. The staircase leads to an upstairs foyer containing a bar and refreshment area. For step-free/wheelchair access to Forum Upstairs as well as the mezzanine foyer bar, there is a lift through the ground floor foyer down the small corridor on the left-hand side. Please see a Marriner’s staff member for lift access.

Inside Forum Upstairs, the steps are quite steeply raked and uneven with no handrails. There are thirty (30) steps from the front row to the back row. Accessible seating is available on the floor level on the audience right and left-hand sides of the performance space.

A fully accessible bathroom is located to the left of the main entrance foyer on the ground level and is accessed through a small corridor or from mezzanine foyer and Forum Upstairs via the lift.

Assistive Listening

There are assistive listening devices available for every show at Forum. Patrons can borrow an assistive listening device with headphones for the duration of the performance. Patrons can use the device to hear an amplified version of the show sound through the headphones. Please see the Comedy Festival Front of House staff member when you arrive at the venue if you require the use of an assistive listening device.
