Ally Morgan has launched herself into space to escape the perils of our current world, and she definitely isn’t having any regrets!

Three weeks into broadcasting (don’t you dare say podcasting) her music and thoughts out to the galaxy, Ally befriends an entity made of light that helps her work through her complicated feelings towards her home planet and the people she left behind.

This show is phenomenal. Ally effortlessly plays multiple instruments, triggers her own effects, and delivers a compelling dramatic performance, all while delivering the stark message that “the adults” aren’t coming to save us.

It can be so hard to devise musical comedy that results in great songs AND gives each punchline the space it deserves, but Ally’s ode to her 90s childhood had the audience in hysterics for the 1st verse, and singing along to every word by the 2nd.

Ally already had a heart-warming plot device in mind to highlight the beauty of collaborative human resistance, but an audience member jolting up to hold the mic for an entire musical number after her stand broke was enough to say it all.

Ally Morgan is performing at The Motley Bauhaus, 8:30pm.
