It’s one thing to welcome a heckler, but Demi Adejuyigbe may be the only comedian to place an actual ripe tomato in the hands of an audience member and encourage them to “throw it when a joke is too awful.”

With keytar solos, 100-word punchlines printed across multiple custom t-shirts, and a genuinely impressive magic trick that bookends the show, Demi has pulled out all the stops for his return to Australia.

We got a peek behind the curtain of what it’s like to be a talented multi-hyphenate living in LA, from witnessing his audition attempts as a feminist James Bond to the conception of the theme song for a surfing Dracula cartoon starring Timothee Chalamet.

We also endured an obligatory word from his American “sponsor”, weapons manufacturer Lockheed Martin, who naturally have sent out a wobbly AI robot to perform crowd work (and flirt with the front row).

Demi is utterly brilliant and devilishly cheeky, and with the best 9/11 joke of the festival (so far), I can forgive him for his implication that Mr Bean has a huge cock (and yes, that was the moment the tomato got thrown).

Demi Adejuyigbe is performing at The Greek, 9:10pm (8:10pm on Sunday).
