Frankie McNair has returned to the stage with the confidence of someone with a “huge ass”, ready to share some difficult stories in a way they never thought they could.

Equal parts confronting and hilarious, Frankie admitted this show far different from anything they have performed before (although it goes without saying that Tabitha Booth is an all-time icon).

Without going into the details of their personal trauma, especially the kind that leaves someone unable to watch Shrek 2 without having a panic attack for no discernible reason (I’ll perform “I Need A Hero” for you Frankie!), Frankie’s ability to turn their most harrowing details into their strongest punchlines is astounding to witness. It is a true demonstration of the power of not holding anything back.

I was also beyond ecstatic to see that their new femme fatale character made it out of the work-in-progress show! Only Frankie McNair can boldly navigate the journey from giant googly-eyes to genuine tears in the span of 20 minutes, and we love them for it.

Frankie McNair is performing at The Victoria Hotel, 6:15pm (3:30pm and 5:15pm on Sunday).
