Johanna Cosgrove wants to peel off your skin and blend it and feed it to you in the morning so you have the nutrients to face the horrors of our world.

 God I loved this show…

Born to be a U-Haul lesbian but only brought to the realisation by a trip to Brunswick two years ago, the Aotearoa-born Johanna has come a long way since dating a man who rode a penny farthing and made her nurse a boot full of rescued chickens back to full health.

But her journey of self discovery - incited by a trip to Denmark to see the bog lady’s preserved body - hasn’t all been straightforward. Her dad may not have developed PTSD from witnessing war crimes overseas, but stumbling upon Johanna’s strap-on while making her childhood bed was juuust enough to tip him over the edge.

What more can you say about a performer that ends an impeccably cursed hour of comedy by doing the splits (lips to linoleum) whilst playing the saxophone.

Johanna Cosgrove is performing at The Motley Wherehaus, 8:00pm until the end of the festival.
