Clowning isn’t just alive but flourishing in the form of Freidah.

Freidah comes from the mind and performance of Caitlin Duff; she runs a below-the-radar service to the afterlife, for those of us who couldn’t afford the real thing.

Dressed in a black velvet gown and pink frilled collar, Caitlin Duff’s Freidah gallivants around the stage and up and down the aisle with aplomb. During the show I was reminded of Death from Horrible Histories but camper, and better.

In her debut solo show, Caitlin Duff proves that a low-pitched whining sound can be absolutely hilarious. Caitlin’s absolute commitment to every bit is what really sells the show.

As we wait for the boat that will take us across the river, (or, to Freidah, just 'across'), Freidah entertains us with food, karaoke and general antics. These antics include extensive interaction with a playful, responsive audience, all of whom were completely enamoured by Freidah on the night I went. The fact that this was a late-night slot in a cramped room at the Motley Bauhaus surely added something electric and communal to the experience.

It’s weird, wonderful, wacky, and two extra shows have been added. I'm telling you: meet Freidah while you can.
