I can see why Courtney Smith won the Comedy New Work award at last year's Melbourne Fringe! Courtney commands the stage with all the confidence and pizzazz of a seasoned comedian.

curlycourtney@bigpond.com is a thrilling comedy debut. Courtney puts her own twist on classic stand-up inspiration as she tells us about her marriage, children, childhood and job as teacher just primary. These stories on their own are told with plenty of laughs, but what I enjoyed was the moments of genre-bending, with theatre and pop culture pastiche. There's even a game at the end (and it's a great one — not just saying that because I won.) 

This was an absolutely delightful audience, and I'm excited to see Courtney continue to explore and experiment.
