Rowan Thambar's latest stand-up show has a hook that's simple, but effective: once, he witnessed something in a park. The stage design of fake plants and artificial turf keeps the Rowan and the audience placed in the setting throughout; when the time comes to reenact the incident, Rowan commits himself wholly, with multiple points of view.

There might be one central narrative, but Sorry For The Late Reply is very much about the detours. Throughout the show, there's a theme of trying to find, and subsequently be, your true self. Rowan takes audiences on a fun and often relatable journey, all told with a winning earnestness that helps his jokes soar.

Sorry For The Late Reply is on at 9:15pm at the Chinese Museum until the end of the festival. Sunday shows 8:15pm.
