Melbourne International Comedy Festival acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands upon which we work and live. We acknowledge the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' spirit, imagination and rich history of storytelling and humour that is an inspiration to all Australians.

We accept the invitation to walk together with First Nations people towards a more positive future for Australia, as described in the Uluru Statement From The Heart.

Red Brassiere

Haylee Deutrom People Please-y Dutiful Covergirl

"Here if you need!"

"Everyone comfy?"

"Not for me, I'm fine!"

Sound familiar? You might be a person. Sound like it came directly out of your mouth? You're definitely a people pleaser.

Join Haylee, an Eldest Daughter and card-carrying people pleaser for her third voyage through Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Her first show, Interlopia, documented her background as the daughter of immigrants, her sophomore show But Daddy I Love Him mapped the terrain of her teenage sexual awakening during the grunge era, and the third time (a charm? Here's hoping) promises to be a journey through navigating adulthood and coming into one's own –– while wrestling with her perpetual status as Eldest Daughter, people pleaser and the never-ending mission of fixing others' oxygen masks before adjusting your own. Thanks! See you there! If you can make it. No worries if not!
