Melbourne International Comedy Festival acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands upon which we work and live. We acknowledge the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' spirit, imagination and rich history of storytelling and humour that is an inspiration to all Australians.

We accept the invitation to walk together with First Nations people towards a more positive future for Australia, as described in the Uluru Statement From The Heart.

Live Nation & Jubilee Street

Nazeem Hussain Totally Normal

Have you ever wondered what Nazeem Hussain does during a two-year break?

Me neither, and I'm him.

But here's the news: Nazeem's back and as Totally Normal as ever.

Totally Normal is Nazeem's brand-new stand-up show, and he'll be hitting stages around Australia in 2024.

Whether you've laughed at him on TV, followed him on TikTok or perhaps tailed him in real life (creepy, but he appreciates the commitment), now's your chance to strap in for a full dose of Nazeem, live and up-close. Nazeem Hussain has fast become one of the biggest stars of Australian comedy and a much-loved television and radio personality.

Nazeem's Netflix special Nazeem Hussain: Public Frenemy, filmed in Montreal at the Just For Laughs Festival, was released in 2019, streaming globally in 180 countries, introducing Nazeem to a legion of new fans and critical acclaim. A regular on international stages, Nazeem has performed around the globe, including sell-out seasons at Edinburgh Festival Fringe, London's Soho Theatre, all across New Zealand, Paris, Belgium, China, Singapore, Malaysia, the US (including opening for Dave Chappelle in New York City), and a homecoming show of sorts in Sri Lanka to 2,500 people (yes, the Prime Minister and his wife sat on thrones in the front row).

'Reinventing Australian comedy.' Herald Sun

'And just when you think you have him pegged, he sneaks up on you again, showing society's conventional wisdom to be little more than prejudice, yet somehow picking out something side-splittingly funny therein.' The Times (UK)

'Hussain is a wonderful comedic artist who blends observation with comedy that crafts an intelligent and hilarious show.' Edinburgh Festivals Magazine (UK)

'This was my first time seeing Hussain's stand-up, and I can tell you it absolutely will not be the last. Nazeem has incredible stage presence and really has command of the room.' Funny or Die
