Melbourne International Comedy Festival acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands upon which we work and live. We acknowledge the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' spirit, imagination and rich history of storytelling and humour that is an inspiration to all Australians.

We accept the invitation to walk together with First Nations people towards a more positive future for Australia, as described in the Uluru Statement From The Heart.

Harry Jun Watermelon Licking

2024 Moosehead Award Recipient presented by Bright Side

Harry Jun Watermelon Licking

Harry loves making people laugh through cartoons and stand-up but can't pick which one he loves more. This comedy show will cover topics from "the best way to catch a spider" to "Koreans are getting younger" both in cartoon and stand-up formats.

Watermelon Licking explores Korean and Australian culture, fitting in and "licking the outside of a watermelon", which is Harry's favourite Korean saying meaning "scratching the surface".
It is a cross media interactive show, part stand-up comedy, part animated characters who are embedded into the show.

Harry Jun is a Sydney-based comedian, host and cartoonist. He is the host of ABC Gamer's The Loot Drop, a weekly gaming news show with hot takes, sketches and silly jokes and this year hosted the Australian Game Developer Awards.

Harry started performing stand-up in 2017. In 2019 he was a RAW Comedy NSW State Finalist and has since performed across Australia in venues including The Comedy Store Sydney, The Enmore Comedy Club and Comedy Republic, Melbourne.
His 2023 solo show I Grew Here sold out shows at Sydney Comedy Festival and debuted at the 2023 Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Subsequently, Harry was asked to perform for Melbourne International Comedy Festival’s Comedy Up Late and Roadshow. He also participated in Sydney Fringe’s Feast showcase, presented at CapriCon Rockhampton and the Korean Film Festival.

Harry is proud to be creating Watermelon Licking as the recipient of a 2024 Moosehead Grant.
