Faulty Towers The Dining Experience is presented by Interactive Theatre International (ITI), a professional theatre company founded in Brisbane in 1997. The show itself also debuted in 1997, created in loving tribute to the BBC sitcom – but using its own scripts and format.
It is ITI’s flagship show: it tours the world continuously, has a year-round London West End residency, and has appeared in 39 countries to date. The show is performed by over 30 supremely talented comedy actors based in England and Australia.
The cast for Melbourne International Comedy Festival features a world-wide Basil favourite, Rob Langston, as well as two renowned Australian performers, both from Melbourne: Anthony Sottile (Manuel) and Rebecca Fortuna (Sybil).
As a company, ITI is known for creating and producing high quality interactive, site-specific and immersive theatre at the light-entertainment end of the spectrum. The main thrust of all its shows is comedy, and audiences are wide-ranging – from young children to centenarians, and even people who ‘don’t like theatre’. Venues vary, too, from arts centres and black box theatres to restaurants and hotels, anywhere around the world.
Also touring currently on the ITI roster: Confetti & Chaos, Only Fools The (cushty) Dining Experience, Signor Baffo’s Restaurant and Pamela’s Palace.
