Melbourne International Comedy Festival acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands upon which we work and live. We acknowledge the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' spirit, imagination and rich history of storytelling and humour that is an inspiration to all Australians.

We accept the invitation to walk together with First Nations people towards a more positive future for Australia, as described in the Uluru Statement From The Heart.

Luke Heggie Grogan

Century presents

Luke Heggie Grogan

These are the tribulations of someone just trying to stay alive until he's dead, while attempting to remain a man of the people. The people aren't really honouring their end of the bargain. Besides nothing, the crushing majority of people don't know anything. In fact, most of them are heading in the right direction for a smack.

Luke Heggie recently discovered that a slip of the tongue is now more commonly known as “his true colours” and that salted caramel was not just a fad. He'd like for these things to be rectified, but stopping short of standing in a major intersection waving around a plank with nails sticking out of it, there is nothing that can be done.

This show is not recommended for anyone who was brought up to believe nothing is their fault. Most things are your fault. No lowbreeds please.

'Utterly extraordinary... A knock-out.' ★★★★★ The Age

'This is a perfect hour of sharp, slaying-them-in-the-aisles, stand-up comedy.' ★★★★ The Age

Book Launch - April 6, 3pm
More information and tickets here.

IF YOU MUST KNOW is a book by Luke Heggie. It’s three of his stand-up comedy shows immortalised on the page. As he neither asks audience members their names and occupations, nor prances around on stage like one of those predator comedians, his stand-up transcribes well. Come to the launch at The Greek to see Luke Heggie explain himself to a special guest comedian.

If you see yourself as a book critic, a comedy aficionado, or indeed an expert of any description, don’t come to the launch. No lowbreeds please.
