Melbourne International Comedy Festival acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands upon which we work and live. We acknowledge the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' spirit, imagination and rich history of storytelling and humour that is an inspiration to all Australians.

We accept the invitation to walk together with First Nations people towards a more positive future for Australia, as described in the Uluru Statement From The Heart.

Alex Keen Hostel California

Alex Keen Hostel California

How old is too old to stay in a hostel?

If you’re like most people, once you hit your mid-30s you’d prefer not to risk being the oldest person at the swim up bar, instead opting for a cheap hotel.

Perhaps you’d rather turn to Airbnb, only to find out that you and your host have very different definitions of the term “its a shared space, but you’ll barely see me”.

Maybe I'm not like most people though, maybe I'm willing to stay at a backpackers and risk looking like a recent divorcee trying to recreate his 20s after the Mrs left and took the kids, all for the rewarding pay off of having something to write a comedy festival show about.

If you're too old for flouro wristbands and 30-person pub crawls, but too young for a P&O cruise ship, this show is for you.

It explores global travel options for the 'in-between' ages.

(It's mostly just a good stand up show with a loose theme, come along you'll love it.)
