Last year Jojo Sutherland was Growing Old Disgracefully and now she’s back
with a new show that is ridiculing and revelling in the role of motherhood.

This charismatic Scottish comic performs in comedy clubs worldwide, where she is in as much demand for her compere abilities as she is for her comedy routine. Her natural stage presence, alongside her healthy neglect attitude to life, proves extremely popular amongst many and varied audiences including the armed forces where she remains one of the few female comedians invited to entertain the troops at British military bases around the world.

In 2022 and post pandemic Jojo was invited to perform at Glastonbury Festival and inspired her last show Growing Old Disgracefully to be written and performed at Edinburgh Fringel and then taken to Perth, Adelaide and Melbourne comedy festivals in 2023. Growing Old Disgracefully was released on YouTube in December 2023. She returns to Melbourne International Comedy Festival in 2024 with her hotly anticipated show I wish you were my mum! (Careful what you wish for!).

Jojo's highly acclaimed 2019 solo show Riches to Rags garnered five-star reviews and industry acclaim and a Scottish Comedy Award for best solo show. BBC Radio 4 commissioned the show, as a special, to be aired April 2024.

Jojo is the regular support act for Jonathan Pie on his national tour dates, which have included four nights at the world-famous Hammersmith Apollo in London. She regularly supports other comics on tour such as John Bishop, Jason Manford and Tom Stade.

She has performed at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe since 2000 with several shows including; Wife Idol – The Rivals that was based on Jojo’s own experience of the award-winning channel 4 program, Wife Swap.

In 2006 Jojo performed her first full-length stand-up show Funny Money to great acclaim, and in 2009 her second stand-up show Jojo Sutherland Stands Up For Herself at the world famous Stand Comedy Club, and the following year another
Solo show Jojo Sutherland Goes for the Jocular.
2013 was Jojo’s directorial debut at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe with a comedy show called When I Grow Up with Juliette Burton, which had a hugely successful run at The Gilded Balloon with a follow up tour of Australia. She also directed Juliette’s second show Look at Me! at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2014 as well as performing her own stand-up show Jojo Sutherland – In Conversation whilst also being part of the cast of A Split Decision, a comedic play staged at The Assembly Rooms regarding the Scottish referendum.

In 2015 Jojo performed at The Pleasance Courtyard as part of the comedian’s theatre company formed by Phil Nichol and Maggie Inchley in a production called 10x10x10 and was asked to join them again in 2017.

She also teamed up with fellow comic Susan Morrison to perform Fanny’s Ahoy! At The Stand Comedy Club during the 2017 Fringe and the show has become a monthly favourite at The Stand.

She made a surprise return to acting by being cast in Castle Fallon in November 2023 performing with the UK’s biggest production house - A Play, A Pie and A Pint in Glasgow.
