Liam Sparrow-Gange Little Video Shop Of Horrors

Liam Sparrow-Gange Little Video Shop Of Horrors

2023 Golden Gibbo nominee and former Masterchef judge Liam Sparrow-Gange returns with Little Video Shop of Horrors, a brand-new, absurd solo sketch/stand-up show that lampoons classic Australian television and the lost/defunct media surrounding it.

Liam Sparrow-Gange has been collecting VHS tapes from abandoned video shops and defunct Australian television stations for many years. Why? Because Liam is on a journey to find the lost televised program from his youth, one which seems to have only been watched by him, as there’s no information about it online.

Liam calls searching for it a hobby, while others would call it an obsession.

Liam's now has 301 VHS in collection, sadly none of them contains the show he has been seaching for. That was until last week. As Liam believes he has found the tape that may hold the show of his dreams. But there're a few problems. Firstly the tape has been re-recorded a few times over and is now worn out. The tape may have been cursed, and Liam’s own VCR is broken. Its audio works fine but its visuals do not. So in order to prove this show existed and that he is not completely insane, Liam has had experimental brain surgery and inserted a TV antenna into his head, which will force him to perform everything that’s on the tape, live in person or it will possibly kill him. It's just a hobby.

This is an absurd stand-up/sketch show that  parodies 90s-00s television, while also following a loose narrative that sends the audience into an adventure about the importance of media preservation.
