Each year the Behind The Lines showcases a broad collection of political cartoons, giving insight into the previous year in Australian politics and current affairs.
This is a really interesting exhibition that manages to remain pretty accessible no matter your level of engagement with the topics. Expect a big focus on cost of living, political leaders, and the environment.
Five in particular that stood out to me were Glen Le Leivre’s Thrown under a Bus Route, Alan Moir’s Our Strong Rebukes, Megan Herberts’s Who Wants To Do The Right Thing With Plastic?, Fiona Katauskas’s Won’t Somebody Think of the Children? As well as Obsolete Brands and The Irrelevant Empire Strikes Back, both by Matt Golding.
