Through their stand-up, both comedians navigate what it's like being young and adjacent to youth culture... meaning what it's like to not be invited to the pub and to scab hits off other people's vapes. Their comedy focuses on the anxieties of being 20 in Melbourne, trying to make comedy work and avoiding the pressure to go to uni.
They want you to like them, really badly. Perhaps they need this more than you.
Siobhan Larkin is an up-and-coming comic and actor based in Melbourne. Her comedy centres around growing up with the pressures of the female experience including diet culture, grief, dating, mental health and being a woman in comedy. She tries to talk about serious issues through a comedic lens to create a safe and inviting space for people to not feel alone and be able to laugh at the hardest times in life.
Max Flett is a young comedian in the Melbourne scene. He has a fear that perhaps he will soon no longer be the youngest anymore... then what does he have going for him? He has run and organised multiple comedy gigs across the city, with two weekly gigs in Collingwood and East Brunswick drawing in a following. His comedy discusses believing there's always something better going on somewhere else, navigating sexuality and the ill-fated experience of being frustratingly adjacent to cool.
