Melbourne International Comedy Festival acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands upon which we work and live. We acknowledge the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' spirit, imagination and rich history of storytelling and humour that is an inspiration to all Australians.

We accept the invitation to walk together with First Nations people towards a more positive future for Australia, as described in the Uluru Statement From The Heart.

Hot Heads Scurvy Isn't Funny

Hot Heads Scurvy Isn't Funny

One step weirder than stand-up. Hot Heads lead you through a carousel of chaos and surreal sketches in this absurdist two-hander. The only problem is, Scurvy Isn’t Funny, so please don’t laugh.

Scurvy Isn't Funny is a merry-go-round of mayhem in which different people get up on stage, joining in the mess and chaos. The show includes puppetry and surreal objects, subverting every day life and turning it into something ridiculous.

Get ready for sketches like 'Baby Lotion' where we lotion audience members' hands whilst asking you to sign petitions lobbying the government. During 'The Birthing Experience' an audience member gets to have a go at being born. Get 'Therapy from a Scotsman', where a healthy dose of Scottish wisdom sets you right, before making you weak at the knees again with laughter.

Messy, fast-paced, absurd and always surprising. Scurvy Isn't Funny is the stand-up show that laughs in the face of expectation. Side-splittingly funny, we can guarantee that this show will be unlike anything you’ve seen before.

Keir Aitken and Lily Kuenzler, AKA Hot Heads, are a British performance duo. We have performed work over three continents in tens of different festivals, comedy venues and theatres. This is our newly-formed company that marries our experience in a whole new brand of comedy.

We are both neurodiverse. We believe that our work flourishes because of this, not in spite of it. This uniqueness in our brains is responsible for the off-the-wall ideas that are the heart of our work.

'Utterly perfect.' ★★★★★ The Barefoot Review

'It’s so mad – it’s sheer brilliance!' ★★★★★ Binge Fringe
