Melbourne International Comedy Festival acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands upon which we work and live. We acknowledge the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' spirit, imagination and rich history of storytelling and humour that is an inspiration to all Australians.

We accept the invitation to walk together with First Nations people towards a more positive future for Australia, as described in the Uluru Statement From The Heart.

Shayne Hunter Swipe Left For Drama: Miscommunication In Relationships

Shayne Hunter Swipe Left For Drama: Miscommunication In Relationships

Swipe Left for Drama invites you to tumble through the comedic mishaps of modern romance with Shayne Hunter, wielding dubious wisdom from a few self-help reads.

Shayne unearths our love pitfalls and links them to our childish quests for validation, utilising a sharp wit formed from his own love bloopers and a sometimes-doubted psychology degree.

This hour promises an insightful, amusing journey that artfully and humorously deciphers our attachment styles, ego defences and maladaptive schemas, offering laughs and enlightenment on consciously reshaping our love narratives.

Get along for some hearty laughs and surprising emotional wisdom!

Whether diving into thought-provoking topics or simply captivating crowds with raw, hilarious material, Shayne Hunter stands out.

Emerging as a unique Australian comedy voice when selected for Melbourne International Comedy Festival’s The Comedy Zone in 2010, the celebrated comic has now over a decade of performances across Australasia, melding wit and intellect to offer unique comedic experiences.
From touring shows on addiction (2018), ideology (2019) and his mastery of crowd-work (2020), to hosting true crime walking tours, performing internationally and combining activism with comedy to organise fundraising shows, Shayne’s established himself as a comedy trailblazer.
