Melbourne International Comedy Festival acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands upon which we work and live. We acknowledge the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' spirit, imagination and rich history of storytelling and humour that is an inspiration to all Australians.

We accept the invitation to walk together with First Nations people towards a more positive future for Australia, as described in the Uluru Statement From The Heart.

The Schuhmannator

The Schuhmannator

The Schuhmannator is a racounteur extraordinaire! Brilliant guitaring and storytelling thorugh music and stand-up comedy. No topic is taboo and the unique perspective of The Schuhmannator makes for highly entertaining and engaging content.

The Schuhmannator 'gently' takes the audience on a journey of confrontation and enlightenment.  Deeply religiously indoctrinated into the religion of music, The Schuhmannator does not shy away from any issue and instead runs head first into the storm, all the while protecting the audience from harm yet cutting deeply at the fabric of discourse and blowing sterotypes and inhumane doctrines to the wind in a way that leaves the audience all the better for the experience. Well spoken and witty yet not afraid of the vulgarities and bizarre testaments of history, The Schuhmannator truly has no fear of being judged.

Typically The Schuhmannator will stray from the path and beat a new track through the haze of humanity while maintaining dignity and that of the audience. Like being maniuplated by the best masseuse/chiropractor/psychiatrist/healer in existence, once Schuhmannated, the audience will have gained new perspectives and be able to recognise the prophets and prophetic nature of music for themsleves and go forth back to reality with renewed vigour and zest for life... once the bruising goes down.
