Special Town Hall Show Just Added: Thur 18th April, 7:20pm
After a critically-acclaimed 2023 debut, overpaid consultants James Schloeffel (from The Shovel) and Charles Firth (from The Chaser) have an all-new show about navigating workplace hell. Learn how to outmanoeuvre your colleagues with nothing more than an obnoxious Linkedin profile, a pile of Post-It Notes and the phrase "circle back".
If you’ve worked in an office, endured a pointless meeting or been told to “drill down on key learnings and get stakeholder buy-in”, this is the show for you.
Wankernomics 2.0 is the much-anticipated follow-up to Wankernomics 1.0, which had critics raving last year with its hilarious, wince-inducing look at the weird things we do once we step into an office. Wankernomics 2.0 is a must-see for anyone who's endured the bureaucracy, banality, buzzwords and bullshit of the working world.
James Schloeffel and Charles Firth are the brains behind two of Australia’s most influential satirical brands.
James’ work has been referred to in Federal Parliament, Senate Estimates, The Economist and, most notably, Insight English Skills Year 9, Queensland Edition. In a previous life, he honed his corporate-wanker skills as a copywriter, gained a degree in Economics and was an extra in a direct-to-DVD movie starring Kylie Minogue. Although the less said about that the better.
Charles Firth is co-founder of Logie Award-winning group The Chaser, host of 'The Chaser Report' (a top-30 Australian podcast) and managing editor of The Chaser and The Shot websites. He has produced, written and performed in television and live comedy for almost two decades. He has never had an office job, although his Mum says he was born a wanker.
In 2016 James and Charles put aside their competitive differences to perform together in a one-off show in Sydney. Something clicked. Since then they’ve written and performed sold-out shows across the country with their unique brand of biting satire and political comedy.
'Exquisite... leaves you in equal parts stitches and torment.' ★★★★★ Weekend Notes
'Wickedly clever satire … guaranteed to leave you with aching sides and a useless corporate vocabulary' ★★★★ On The Record
'Unmissable!' ★★★★★ The Weekender Herald
