Melbourne International Comedy Festival proudly presents

New Order (UK)

They’re some of the most original and exciting performers from the UK and Ireland and now these kick-ass comedy groundbreakers are storming into Melbourne. Forget that stiff upper lip, these four fresh talents are setting the scene ablaze. This is the New Order.

Evelyn Mok

She’s compelling, funny and on the up. Born in Sweden to Chinese parents, Evelyn challenges the norms of women in the spotlight with an unapologetic style, tackling casual racism and the perils of modern femininity with sharp-witted hilarity. Named as ‘One to Watch’ by Time Out London, Evelyn has appeared on big and small screens in Sweden and the UK, including a role in Marvel’s 2019 reboot of Spiderman.

Huge Davies

Combining dark humour, surreal songs and a wearable keyboard, 2019 Edinburgh Comedy Award Best Newcomer Nominee Huge Davies is one of the most unique performers in the UK. He supported Sara Pascoe and Nish Kumar within his first year on the circuit and his debut solo show ‘The Carpark’ was a smash hit at Edinburgh Festival in 2019 and looks set to wow audiences here in Melbourne.

Joanne McNally

Joanne burst onto the Irish comedy scene in 2014 and in less than a year became the co-host of RTÉ 2’s flagship comedy show, Republic of Telly, and sold out her first solo stand up show in Dublin. Her one-woman autobiographical show ‘Bite Me’ was nominated for multiple Dublin Fringe Festival awards and her 2019 show ‘The Prosecco Express’ received rave reviews and sold out its Edinburgh Fringe and Dublin Fringe runs.

Pierre Novellie

A rapidly rising star with a razor-sharp observational style that’s a hit with audiences and critics. Twice placed in the top 20 best-reviewed comedy shows at the Edinburgh Fringe, now Pierre’s fresh from supporting Frank Skinner on a national tour and West End season and he’s scored three Chortle Award nominations. His writing credits include BBC’s Mock the Week and he co-hosts the weekly podcast Budpod with his good pal Phil Wang.

Strictly for audiences 16+
