Box Office
There is no dedicated Box Office at ACMI, however the Comedy Festival Front of House staff can assist with purchasing last minute tickets at the venue or you can also book yourself through our website. All Comedy Festival box offices are cashless so only EFTPOS and credit card are accepted. Cash is not accepted.

Transport Information

Public Transport
ACMI is located in close proximity to Flinders Street Train Station and is serviced by both Swanston Street and Collins Street trams. Go to ptv.vic.gov.au for public transport information.

Level access tram stops nearby are Stop 13 Flinders Street Station, Stop 11 Collins Street (Swanston St/Collins St) for trams 1, 3/3a, 5, 6, 16, 64, 67 and 72 and Stop 6 Russell Street (corner Russell St and Flinders St) and Stop 5 Flinders Street Station for trams 75, 70 and 35.

Car Parking
Secure Parking is proud to be a partner of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. They are offering all Comedy Festival ticketholders discounted parking at selected car parks. The closest Secure Parking to ACMI is 300 Flinders St. For more information about how to redeem the discount, please visit the Secure Parking website.

There are designated on-street Accessible Parking Bays available at the following locations:

  • Flinders St between Elizabeth St and Swanston St
  • Flinders Lane between Elizabeth St and Swanston St
  • Little Collins St between Russell St and Elizabeth St
  • Russell St
  • Russell St between Collins St and Flinders Lane

The best spot for drop off and pick-ups is on the Russell Street extension near Federation Square (approx. 100m).

Accessibility
Entry to ACMI is via the Federation Square entrance which is all step free access. On entry to ACMI you will find both Swinburne Studio and Gandel Lab on the left-hand side of the corridor. 

Gandel Lab
The entrance to Gandel Lab is through the main entrance doors via Federation Square The Gandel Lab is then along a corridor on the left-hand side. This is all step-free access. 

Accessible seating in Gandel Lab is available on the right hand-side of the performance space close to the front of the stage. Please see How to Book Your Ticket if you require step-free and/or wheelchair accessible seat in Gandel Lab.

Swinburne Studio

The entrance to Swinburne Studio is through the main entrance doors via Federation Square. Swinburne Studio is then along a corridor on the left-hand side. This is all step-free access.

Bathrooms
Toilets are located on both Ground Flour and on Level 1. ACMI have wheelchair accessible toilets and gender neutral toilets on both levels.

Baby change facilities are available near the toilets at the Flinders St entrance on the Ground Floor.

Bar
In addition to Hero at ACMI available during their normal opening hours, for evening performances there will be a pop-up bar in the foyer outside the performance spaces.
