Entrance to all Trades Hall venues is via the Lygon St driveway. Please follow signage.

Box Office
The Trades Hall Comedy Festival Box Office is located inside the Courtyard Bar at Trades Hall. Enter through the Lygon St driveway and along the path to the Courtyard Bar. There is step-free/wheelchair access from street level to the Box Office. The Box Office is open one hour before the first performance until 15mins after the final performance commences. All Comedy Festival box offices are cashless so only EFTPOS and credit card are accepted. Cash is not accepted.

Transport Information

Public Transport
Trades Hall is walking distance from Swanston St, Nicholson St and La Trobe Street trams. The closest train station is either Parliament Station or Melbourne Central Station. Go to ptv.vic.gov.au for public transport information.

Level access tram stops nearby are Stop 4 Queensberry Street for trams 1, 3/3a, 5, 6, 16, 64, 67 and 72 and Stop 11 Melbourne Museum for trams 86, 96.

Car Parking
Secure Parking is proud to be a partner of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. They are offering all Comedy Festival ticketholders discounted parking at selected car parks. The closest Secure Parking to Trades Hall is 59 Lonsdale St. For more information about how to redeem the discount, please visit the Secure Parking website.

There are designated on-street Accessible Parking Bays available at the following locations:

  • Lygon St between Victoria Street and Queensberry St
  • Cardigan Street between Victoria Street and Queensberry St

The best spot for drop off and pick-ups is on Lygon St, directly outside Trades Hall.

Common Rooms Bar
The entrance to the Common Rooms Bar is via the long driveway from Lygon St, heading towards the Courtyard Bar bar area. There is a door on the right that leads into the South building before entry to the Courtyard Bar, then down the corridor and up a large staircase of approx. 20+ steps. The performance space is on the right at the top of the stairs.

There is step-free/wheelchair access from Lygon St to a door on the right before entry to the Courtyard Bar, then the lift is taken up to Level 1. Turn right when exiting the lift and the Common Rooms Bar is down the small corridor on the left. Accessible seating is available on the left-hand side of the performance space, close to the entrance door. A Comedy Festival Front of House staff member can provide assistance to your seat. Music Room
The entrance to the Music Room is via the long driveway from Lygon St, heading towards the Courtyard Bar bar area. There is a door on the left that leads into the North building, then up two flights of stairs. Turn left at the top of the stairs and the Music Room is at the end of the corridor.

There is step-free/wheelchair access from Lygon St to a door on the left that leads into the North Building, then the lift is taken up to Level 2. Accessible seating is available on the left-hand side of the performance space, on the far side from the entrance door. Solidarity Hall 
The entrance to Solidarity Hall is via the long driveway from Lygon St, heading towards the Courtyard Bar bar area. There is a door on the right that leads into the South building before entry to the Courtyard Bar, then down the corridor and up a large staircase of approx. 20+ steps. The performance space at the top of the stairs and further along the corridor on the right hand side. 

There is step-free/wheelchair access from Lygon St to a door on the right before entry to the Courtyard Bar, then the lift is taken up to Level 1. Meeting Room
The entrance to the Meeting Room is via the long driveway from Lygon St, heading through the Courtyard Bar area and into the Ground floor of the South building. The Meeting Room is the second performance space on the left, accessible via the large carpeted foyer.

Archive Room
The entrance to the Archive Room is via the long driveway from Lygon St, heading through the Courtyard Bar area and into the Ground floor of the South building. Archive Room is the first performance space on the left, accessible via the large carpeted foyer.

Quilt Room
The entrance to the Quilt Room is via the long driveway from Lygon St, heading towards the Courtyard Bar area and into the Ground Floor of the South building. Quilt Room is up the large staircase on the right; once upstairs, the venue is straight ahead down the corridor.

There is step-free/wheelchair access from Lygon St to a door on the right before entry to the Courtyard Bar, then the lift is taken up to Level 1. Turn right when exiting the lift and continue right down the corridor, through the large double doors. Corner Store  

The entrance to the Corner Store is via the long driveway from Lygon St, heading through the Courtyard Bar area and into the Ground floor of the South building. Corner Store is the last performance space on the right, accessible via the large carpeted foyer.

Bathrooms
There are bathrooms available in the Courtyard Bar, on Level 1 of the South building next to Quilt Room, on Level 1 of the South building down the corridor from the Common Rooms Bar and Level 1 of the South building close to Music Room and Solidarity Hall. 

Accessible bathrooms are available on Ground Floor and Level 1 of the South building, next to the lifts on each level.

Gender-neutral bathrooms are available in the Courtyard Bar and the Level 1 bathrooms are a series of single enclosed stalls, with handwashing and toilet facilities.

Bar
There is a bar situated in the Courtyard Bar that services all venues in Trades Hall. There is step-free/wheelchair access from street level to the bar.
