Box Office
There is no dedicated Box Office at Chinese Museum, however the Comedy Festival Front of House staff can assist with purchasing last minute tickets at the venue or you can also book yourself through our website. All Comedy Festival box offices are cashless so only EFTPOS and credit card are accepted. Cash is not accepted.

Public Transport
Chinese Museum is walking distance from Swanston St, Bourke St and La Trobe Street trams. The venue is also walking distance from Melbourne Central Station. Go to ptv.vic.gov.au for public transport information.

Level access tram stops nearby are Stop 8 Melbourne Central Station, Stop 10 Bourke St Mall for trams 1, 3/3a, 5, 6, 16, 64, 67, 72 and Stop 7 Russell St for trams 86, 96.

Car Parking
Secure Parking is proud to be a partner of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. They are offering all Comedy Festival ticketholders discounted parking at selected car parks. There are designated on-street Accessible Parking Bays available at the following locations:

  • Lonsdale St between Russell St and Swanston St
  • Exhibition St between Lonsdale St and La Trobe St

Silk Room
The entrance to the Silk Room is via the foyer and the performance space is on Level 1. From the foyer, proceed up the large internal staircase approx. 15+ stairs to Level 1; turn left and the entrance to the performance space is on the right.

For step-free/wheelchair access, there is step-free/wheelchair access from Cohen Place to the lifts in the foyer. Please seek assistance from a Comedy Festival Front of House staff member to use the lift. Take the lift to Level 1 and the lift opens into a foyer space; the performance space is down the corridor on the right. Accessible seating is available on the left-hand side of the performance space, close to the entrance door. A Comedy Festival Front of House staff member can provide assistance to your seat. Jade Room
The entrance to the Jade Room is via the foyer and the performance space is on Level 3. From the foyer, proceed up the large internal staircase approx. three flights of stairs to Level 3; the entrance to the performance space is on the right through the exhibition space.

For step-free/wheelchair access, there is step-free/wheelchair access from Cohen Place to the lifts in the foyer. Please seek assistance from a Comedy Festival Front of House staff member to use the lift. Take the lift to Level 3 and the performance space is directly opposite the lifts. Bar
There is a pop-up bar in the foyer of Chinese Museum. Patrons are permitted to take drinks into each venue. There is step-free/wheelchair access to the bar directly from the main entrance on Cohen Place.
