Melbourne International Comedy Festival acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands upon which we work and live. We acknowledge the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' spirit, imagination and rich history of storytelling and humour that is an inspiration to all Australians.

We accept the invitation to walk together with First Nations people towards a more positive future for Australia, as described in the Uluru Statement From The Heart.

Sarah Bartolo Daddy Issues

Sarah Bartolo Daddy Issues

As the eldest daughter of a traditional Maltese Catholic family, Sarah’s dad had high hopes for her. But instead, she turned into one big gay disappointment.

Divorced and childless with no “real career”, this anxious 40 year old is determined to live her best life, despite her daddy issues always rearing its butt ugly head.

Sarah Bartolo is bringing her brand new comedy show Daddy Issues hot off the back of her fabulous 2023 debut show, Business Women’s Luncheon: Your Ticket To Financial Freedom!

She has a knack for political satire and sketch comedy creating well-loved characters like grifter Venus GirlBoss Moon and is also a screenwriter with her comedy TV pilot being selected for the MIFF 37 Degrees South Market and various film festivals.
