Melbourne International Comedy Festival acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands upon which we work and live. We acknowledge the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' spirit, imagination and rich history of storytelling and humour that is an inspiration to all Australians.

We accept the invitation to walk together with First Nations people towards a more positive future for Australia, as described in the Uluru Statement From The Heart.

2020 ticket holder information

Following the Prime Minister’s announcement on Friday 13 March 2020 regarding the necessity to limit non-essential mass gatherings, it is with great sadness that we confirm that the 2020 Melbourne International Comedy Festival will not go ahead.

For tickets purchased directly through the Festival’s website a full refund including fees will be issued back to the original credit card used at the time of booking. Depending on the payment method this may take up to 7-10 business days to reach your account once you receive confirmation that your refund has been processed. For tickets purchased using a credit/debit card that has now expired please contact our Box Office team at ticketing@comedyfestival.com.au to discuss the refund process.

If you purchased tickets through an authorised ticketing agent (for example, Arts Centre Melbourne, Ticketmaster, Ticketek, Trybookings, Eventbrite etc.) then your refund will be processed by the relevant ticketing agent.

Melbourne International Comedy Festival gift vouchers have a 3-year expiry and will not be refunded. For more information or specific gift voucher queries please contact ticketing@comedyfestival.com.au.

Support for artists and support staff
Many patrons have made contact suggesting that they would like to donate the value of their purchased tickets to the artist concerned rather than receive a refund. If you purchased your ticket directly through the Festival website, and rather than a refund, you would like all or a percentage of the value of your tickets to continue to go to the artist please advise our Box Office team at ticketing@comedyfestival.com.au.

Australia’s entire entertainment industry is facing significant challenges with the livelihoods of huge numbers of technical, box office, front of house, production and associated support staff, as well as artists, impacted enormously by these extraordinary circumstances. Rescheduled performances
Some performances may be rescheduled to a date in the future. If this is the case, we will advise you by email of the rescheduled date. You will be able to choose between keeping your tickets and attending the rescheduled performance or requesting a full refund for tickets purchased.

We thank everyone for their understanding and support and look forward to sharing a laugh with you again soon.
