Plan ahead when you hit the road, and if you're going to drink, don't drive

Melbourne International Comedy Festival is out on Roadshow with TAC, and we want everyone coming to the shows to travel safely.

Whether it's the bus, train, ride-share or a lift home with mates (or your mum!), there are always other options than drink driving. So all jokes aside, if you're heading to a Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow performance (or any gig!) and planning to drink, remember to think ahead – leave the car key and plan an alternative way home.

THE REAL-LIFE LOL MOBILE!

Want a lift to the 2023 Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow in our real-life LOL MOBILE?! Thanks to TAC, we're leaving the car key at home this Roadshow and getting to and from the show safely in our real-life LOL MOBILE!

“A great night out with friends is something we all look forward to, but it’s important to remember that it’s never worth risking your life or someone else’s by drink driving. If you choose to drink, don’t drive” said TAC Acting Head of Marketing, Communications & External Affairs, Kylie Grzybek.

Kristy from Warrnambool was treated to a chauffeured trip to and from the Roadshow in her town, along with comedian Lizzy Hoo.

Kobi from Sale won a trip to and from the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow at The Wedge along with comedian Ivan Aristeguieta.

Make sure you stay safe travelling to and from the giggles. If you're planning to drink alcohol, nominate a driver who isn’t drinking, grab a taxi, rideshare or take public transport. Or, if you need to drive home, avoid drinking alcohol altogether to ensure everyone gets home safely.
