The newest kid on the (development) block, Deadly Funny Kids is a comedy workshop program for Indigenous young people aged 12 to 18 that can be held in schools or local performing arts/community centres.
Aimed at developing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander teens comedy skills the program also focuses on building confidence and strengthen positive cultural identity. Deadly Funny Kids can also be a platform to our other development programs Class Clowns, RAW and Deadly Funny.
Here’s some of the places we’ve been – and what people have said about their experience!
MOBfest (Lightning Ridge), Blak Nite (Adelaide), Wominjeka Festival (Footscray Community Arts), Palm Island QLD, NAIDOC week celebrations.
We’ve also visited schools all over the country - Quirindi High School, Sydney Secondary College, South Sydney High School, Westport High School (Port Macquarie), McCarthy Catholic College (Emu Plains), Broken Hill High School, Melville High School (Kempsey), Menindee Central School and Redbank Plains State High School (QLD).
We’ve also done some musical comedy workshops with Songlines as a part of their school holiday program.
