Online Program - FAQs

Preparing for your online event

Check that you have a good, strong internet connection available. We’d recommend testing your device before the show starts. Log into your account and onto the show at least 5-10 minutes before the scheduled start time so you can test video and audio before the event.

I’m having streaming issues

Check that you have a good and strong WIFI internet connection available. We recommend not using mobile data. Close any other windows or tabs you have open, and check that others on your network aren’t downloading or streaming anything else. For more tips on playback quality and buffering issues click here.

What happens if I’m late to the show?

If you’re late to an appointment viewing session, you’ll join the online show at the point at which the stream is up to. For many shows, you can watch them from the beginning once the session is complete. Please note that you’ll only have access to the show until midnight AEDT/AET on the day of the show to catch up.

What does Appointment Viewing and On Demand mean?

Appointment Viewing shows are streamed at a set time. On Demand shows are available until midnight AET on 30 April 2021.

How do I access online shows I have booked/purchased ticket to?

You must log in to your Comedy Festival account here on comedyfestival.com.au on the device you wish to watch the shows. Appointment viewing online shows will be available through the ‘Tickets’ tab and On Demand content through the ‘On Demand’ tab in your account. Please make sure you test the device you wish to watch on before the events start.

What devices can I watch online shows on?

The Comedy Festival site uses a Vimeo player. Vimeo is supported by most commonly used web browsers including, Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Edge, and Safari. Vimeo will be fully functional when using these web browsers on the operating systems Windows 8.1, Windows 10, or MacOS 10.14 (Mojave). We recommend that you install the latest version of your internet browser. More information can be found here.

Can I watch this digital show on my phone/iPad/smart TV?

Yes, you can. You must log into your Comedy Festival account at comedyfestival.com.au on the device you wish to use, or you can use a screen mirroring/sharing function to stream the show from one device onto another. If you have a Google ChromeCast device, you can stream the show from your phone, tablet, or computer to your TV using the Google Home App. Alternatively, you can connect your computer to your TV monitor using an appropriate cable (e.g. HDMI or VGA). What do I do if there is no audio?

First, try refreshing/reloading the page. Check that the video is not muted in the Vimeo player window. Check the audio output in your computer settings and make sure the sound isn’t playing out of speakers or headphones that are not in use.

What do I do if there is no video/visuals playing?

Do I need access to the internet to watch online shows?

Yes, you cannot access any online content without an internet connection.

Who can I contact for technical support prior to the event?

Please contact our box office team on (03) 9245 3788 prior to your event for troubleshooting. Or you can email customerservice@comedyfestival.com.au with your name, mobile number, and the name of the show, and a staff member will contact you via your mobile to support.

I have lost my ticket to an online show, where can I find it?

Log into your Comedy Festival account here https://www.comedyfestival.com.au/login (or select the SIGN IN icon at the top of our website. Once you are logged in you’ll be able to access the ‘Tickets’ and ‘On Demand’ tabs which will contain links to shows you have booked.

I don’t know my Comedy Festival account password

Reset your account password here remember to check your junk if you don’t receive a password reset email as sometimes they end up in junk folders. If you’re still having issues accessing your account or resetting your password, contact us on (03) 9245 3788.

If I can’t access my online show, can I get a refund?

No, we recommend that you test your device before the show starts and contact us if you are having any issues.

I can’t make it to the online show at the advertised start time, can I just watch it On Demand?

Most appointment viewing shows will be available until midnight AEDT/AET on the day of the session for you to watch. Many shows will be available to watch/purchase as On Demand shows after the online premiere, so if you’re not sure you can make the session then it might be worth considering purchasing or booking for the show once it is available as On Demand content. I missed an in person show, can I watch it digitally instead?

No, only shows included in the online program will be available to stream – browse the full online program here.
