Melbourne International Comedy Festival acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands upon which we work and live. We acknowledge the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' spirit, imagination and rich history of storytelling and humour that is an inspiration to all Australians.

We accept the invitation to walk together with First Nations people towards a more positive future for Australia, as described in the Uluru Statement From The Heart.

The Funny Tonne

Obviously

Obviously

In Obviously, Bron Lewis shares a range of entertaining stories about her mother Helen-who she fears she is turning into, her rural hometown of Wagga and the gossip and life lessons that have been derived from these two things.

Lewis's performance ranges from deliciously accurate portrayals of her mother, to utilising sound and lighting to bring the audience further into her mental space for the certain sequences in the show.

Obviously does not shy away from the concept of mental health, bringing new and poignant meanings to some well-placed callbacks within the show. In the end, little is left without resolve as Lewis delivers both a clever and emotionally vulenrable piece
