Melbourne International Comedy Festival acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands upon which we work and live. We acknowledge the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' spirit, imagination and rich history of storytelling and humour that is an inspiration to all Australians.

We accept the invitation to walk together with First Nations people towards a more positive future for Australia, as described in the Uluru Statement From The Heart.

I have always been a massive fan of the comedy festival since I moved back to Melbourne in 2018. I have been known by many as the comedy and musical theatre encylopedia and this festival does nothing but fuel this! Studying a Bachelor of Arts in Creative and Professional Writing, I am so excited to be a Funny Tonner this year to challenge myself with each new review, finding more words than funny, entertaining or enlightening-although I'm very aware with the lineup this year that these words are all very true! I think in general, the arts are a very important way to tell stories and provoke emotions in audience's that stay with them for long after a show is done and this festival is a perfect way to celebrate that. I can't wait to see what MICF24' brings to the table and am very excited for this amazing opportunity!
