Melbourne International Comedy Festival acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands upon which we work and live. We acknowledge the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' spirit, imagination and rich history of storytelling and humour that is an inspiration to all Australians.

We accept the invitation to walk together with First Nations people towards a more positive future for Australia, as described in the Uluru Statement From The Heart.

The Funny Tonne

Leave To Enter

Nick Robertson’s tale of being denied entry to the United Kingdom probably isn’t the most relatable content. However his skillful storytelling skills make this a hilarious and delightful journey to go on.

Leave To Enter is Robertson’s Melbourne International Comedy Festival debut, but he performs with the panache of someone who has been doing comedy far longer. Balancing both witty material and captivating delivery this is an artist to watch.

From Scooby Doo (2002) to Candy Crush and a brother’s advice, this show is packed not only with laughs but also heart. To create a show that is goofy yet tender, funny yet impactful is no mean feat but Robertson has done just that. You will leave this performance a fan of Nick Robertson, and also wanting to immediately call your Mum.
