Melbourne International Comedy Festival acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands upon which we work and live. We acknowledge the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' spirit, imagination and rich history of storytelling and humour that is an inspiration to all Australians.

We accept the invitation to walk together with First Nations people towards a more positive future for Australia, as described in the Uluru Statement From The Heart.

The first comedy I watched was ‘Thank God You’re Here’ when I was six years old. The first thing I wrote was a piece lamenting my hatred for Ibis. ‘Dump bird dump bird I hate you’. Since then I’ve been obsessed with comedy and writing about it. Not satisfied with just pestering my friends and family about my latest comedy passions I started posting about it on the internet as @23fmfan where I talk about Australian and New Zealand comedy, tv, and film! For as long as I can remember I’ve watched the Melbourne International Comedy Festival’s Gala and Opening Night Comedy Allstars Supershow on tv with a religious passion, so to be writing reviews for MICF’s Funny Tonne would absolutely blow the mind of six year old me. I probably won’t be hating on any bird species in my reviews which would disappoint younger me.
