Melbourne International Comedy Festival acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands upon which we work and live. We acknowledge the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' spirit, imagination and rich history of storytelling and humour that is an inspiration to all Australians.

We accept the invitation to walk together with First Nations people towards a more positive future for Australia, as described in the Uluru Statement From The Heart.

The Funny Tonne

Wilegitimate

Wilegitimate

To see Wil Anderson onstage is to see someone who is a genuine comedy master. This is Anderson’s 29th Melbourne International Comedy Festival, and his longevity should come as no surprise. Anderson is not only exceptional at his craft, but he clearly still loves it. Running through the whole show is some real heart. At the beginning Anderson tells the crowd that this show has a story, but that despite it being titled Wilegitimate and being about him finding out something about his Dad, it is not a family scandal. With that out of the way Anderson takes us everywhere in the funniest ways possible, from why Australia is so good at swimming to the use of the word ‘poo’ in official government communications. This show is unmatched in good jokes and it’s a joy to witness. Don’t miss the chance to see Anderson perform, you wil regret it.
