Melbourne International Comedy Festival acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands upon which we work and live. We acknowledge the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' spirit, imagination and rich history of storytelling and humour that is an inspiration to all Australians.

We accept the invitation to walk together with First Nations people towards a more positive future for Australia, as described in the Uluru Statement From The Heart.

The Funny Tonne

Blunt

Blunt

Lloyd Langford is a comedian, father, and jazz enthusiast, oh and he’s all out of fucks to give.

His latest show Blunt is a witty, sharp, and strikingly funny look into Langford’s journey of turning 40 and becoming more comfortable in his skin.

True to the title it is, well, blunt, but also endearingly genuine as he talks potty training his daughter, pubs with playgrounds, wart removal, and getting his Working with Children Check (he passed!)

A stand-out on Have You Been Paying Attention? as well as Thank God You're Here, Langford’s perfect fusion of deadpan yet cheeky delivery is superbly hilarious to witness in longer form, his handling of a technical difficulty at the top of the show only got the audience more onboard. He possesses a certain earnestness that makes it virtually impossible not to be thoroughly convinced by his even when he vehemently defends ice cream in a cone instead of a cup. (#TeamCup)
