Opening Night Comedy Allstars Supershow

Opening Night Comedy Allstars Supershow

When I think of Melbourne International Comedy Festival’s Opening Night Comedy Allstars Supershow I’m immediately hit with memories; waiting for the exact air date announcement, first via tv guides, then EPG, and now of course social media. Then counting down sleeps. Finally, the soft glow of a tv, excitement at getting to stay up past my bedtime, now tuned to disregarding the early start I have the next morning, and all the laughter, SO much laughter.

My highlights from Opening Night 2024:

Guy Montgomery hosted and has some of the best delivery in comedy, he is just so funny and knows exactly how to win the crowd.

Danielle Walker is an absolute delight, so likeable and completely hilarious!

It's hard to imagine a room laughing harder than they do at Dave Hughs, he's a master (just not a master at surfing)

Bron Lewis delivers some of the funniest pregnancy photoshoot material ever. Seriously.

Call Hamish and Andy because Jason Leong pulls off one of the best Power Moves I’ve heard of.

I’ve been a fan of Joel Creasey since I was 13 and tonight is a testament to why I still love him!

Even though I remain Team Cup, Lloyd Langford makes a persuasive, hilarious and Blunt argument for Team Cone

Even though I remain Team Cup, Lloyd Langford makes a persuasive, hilarious and Blunt case for cones.

Melanie Bracewell never disappoints, her comedy is ridiculously funny, well-written and satisfying, worth at least 4.3 stars.

I don't want to spoilt it at all, but I think Two Hearts may have written my favourite musical comedy song ever.
