Melbourne International Comedy Festival acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands upon which we work and live. We acknowledge the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' spirit, imagination and rich history of storytelling and humour that is an inspiration to all Australians.

We accept the invitation to walk together with First Nations people towards a more positive future for Australia, as described in the Uluru Statement From The Heart.

The Funny Tonne

Troll

Troll

Trolls is a chaotic and charming performance of clowning, a retelling of The Three Billy Goats Gruff, only this time from the troll’s perspective.

This show is not for those who are afraid of audience participation, but if that is your jam then you will be in heaven as the two trolls masterfully involve the crowd. Choosing to speak to the audience almost exclusively in their native troll language it’s thrilling trying to decipher it and respond correctly. Trolls has all the makings of a fever dream, it’s reminiscent of a world you remember creating as a child but your sibling claims to have no recollection of. It all culminates in a shockingly catchy song with call and response from the audience. It would be hard to walk out of this performance not wondering if we have all perhaps judged trolls too harshly, but then there was the accident with the house…
