The Funny Tonne

Brace Yourself

Brace Yourself

Lauren Edwards brings a relatable charm to Brace Yourself, retelling stories from her childhood, the culture of high school and living with scoliosis.

From highlighting her obsession with candles, slight kleptomania and fierce admiration for the Moulin Rogue musical film-Edwards covers a whole range of topics in just 55 minutes.

Whilst there are entertaining moments throughout, the pacing of this show felt as if it could have been slightly improved. Whether this was the references or punchlines not hitting certain audiences as quickly as they should have, overall Edwards does a diligent performance and brings her all in for an entertaining watch.
