Melbourne International Comedy Festival acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands upon which we work and live. We acknowledge the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' spirit, imagination and rich history of storytelling and humour that is an inspiration to all Australians.

We accept the invitation to walk together with First Nations people towards a more positive future for Australia, as described in the Uluru Statement From The Heart.

Karate Man: A Live-Action Video Game

Karate Man: A Live-Action Video Game

Karate Man is an experience that takes audience interaction to a whole new level with a video game format! Those in attendance take it in turns to operate a controller and the main character of the show (Karate Man), as he navigates the world around him.

The precision of the technical elements involved in this show are extremely impressive, most notably the connection between the controller and the performers onstage. The actors themselves showcase both improvisation and vocal talents as they guide the audience through their "choose your own adventure" style game.

Working with crowds is an unpredictable medium in itself and timing issues are always probable but overall, Karate Man's concept and delivery were well-executed for this wacky hour of fun.
