The Funny Tonne

Albatross

Albatross

As a kid I would spend hours at the park creating sand that was the perfect consistency for building with. No one has ever put a name to what I was making, until Lara Davis perfectly titled it ‘medium sand’.

Lara Davis’s Albatross is a journey, covering haunted microwaves, looking like a lighthouse keep and loneliness. It’s about long walks on the beach, protecting yourself at night with birds, and it’s about facism. This show is about darkness, but without ignoring the light. Expertly crafted with an abundance of wit, as well as a lot of bird mentions. While watching it unfold and unravel you will marvel at Davis’s unique way of thinking. At one point Davis remarks that they are often referred to as a ‘comic’s comic’. But really this show is for anyone who is worried about the world, loves Charlotte’s Web and hates pugs, or who wants to feel better about the world.
