Melbourne International Comedy Festival acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands upon which we work and live. We acknowledge the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' spirit, imagination and rich history of storytelling and humour that is an inspiration to all Australians.

We accept the invitation to walk together with First Nations people towards a more positive future for Australia, as described in the Uluru Statement From The Heart.

The Funny Tonne

Concrete Pigs

Concrete Pigs

Like me, when Prue Blake was a kid she dreamed about the usual things: the charm of cities. Ex Queenslander and actually qualified town planner, Blake’s Concrete Pig is part love letter and part official complaint about how cities are being ruined.

Blake has clear passion for this genuinely unique comedy show premise and it comes together really well as we hear about Blake’s public transport experiences, childhood, and a stake out with her brother Hamish Blake (no, not that one).

Anyone who has ever remarked that what Melbourne calls ‘laneways’ would in fact be ‘alleyways’ elsewhere will delight in this performance. Be sure to get the official zine from her for additional reading and jokes!
