Melbourne International Comedy Festival acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands upon which we work and live. We acknowledge the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples' spirit, imagination and rich history of storytelling and humour that is an inspiration to all Australians.

We accept the invitation to walk together with First Nations people towards a more positive future for Australia, as described in the Uluru Statement From The Heart.

The Funny Tonne

Sloppy Toppy

Sloppy Toppy

Carmelo Costa’s debut Melbourne International Comedy Festival solo show is a mix of family, travel and romance stories. His delivery is enjoyable as we take a romp through his life, with no detail left unshared. From asking if we’re too hard on cockroaches to lower back pain, Sloppy Toppy is designed for those who enjoy a good mix of witty and dirty.

I wanted the stories to tie in better, and kept waiting for the whole performance to gel more. But it never really reached where I wanted it to, although I suspect as he performs more Costa will find a more perfected rhythm.
